I was only a teenager when my sweet lovely grandmother suddenly started having symptoms of dementia. To be around her where she was not acting alert while having weak cognitive abilities, I recall it was so very much difficult and a painful situation especially with no methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer at that time.
I am encouraged and determined to go the long distance bike riding because I do understand the critical need for collaboration helping to bring Alzheimer’s treatments to affected families through increasing investments to accelerate advances in the field of [ Biochemistry, Immunology and Genetics through Research & Technology. ]
Do you know that there are more than 6 million Americans & at least 55 million people world wide living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia? In addition to the number of the family members as their care takers!
The good news is that more than one third of all cases of dementia are estimated to be potentially preventable, This is why, early detection of Alzheimer’s can prevent further cognitive decline and dementia through clinical studies being done to better evaluate whether life style interventions like self-health management, cognitive stimulation, nutrition, and other criteria can simultaneously have an impact on the Alzheimer disease risk factors!
As of now, there are no shortage of expansive scientific ideas and breakthrough in this field of Alzheimer research, only dollar/expenses. Which is why, as someone involving with this research, and also one of the participant in this cycling event on October 13-2024 I’m asking for your support.
With each mile I will ride I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s.
