Por qué viajo: I watched my mom Roberta live with dementia for the past few years and she lost her battle this October. It was so sad to see the person admired so much, battle with losing her mind, her ability to talk, walk and take care of herself. It was hard not only on my mom but for my father who fought so hard to take care of her and for my entire family who was with her by her side until the very end. I received the email to join this Alzheimer’s charity ride and it was as if it was meant for me to do. With my love of bike riding and the love for my mother, I am ready to take on the goal of training for the full 100 miles and raising as much money as I can until the ride in June 2025. I am determined to go the distance and I am inspired by the strength of the nearly 7 million Americans living with this disease, and the over 11 million family members and friends who provide them with care. I am also inspired by science.
