PUT ME BACK ON THIS BIKE!
In November, 2024, I received tough news when I was diagnosed with cancer. I am currently undergoing treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. My odds of whipping the cancer are very good.
I intend to ride in the 2025 New England Ride to End Alzheimer's to help raise much needed funds for the Alzheimer's Association. And, in doing so I intend to show cancer that it just flat out picked the wrong guy to mess with.
One could reasonably ask why, given my own personal health challenge, wouldn't I instead ride on behalf of cancer research and treatment? The answer is simple. I will annihilate my cancer because I am the beneficiary of decades of research and cutting edge breakthroughs in cancer treatment.
El Alzheimer's disease wave is coming hard. In the U.S. alone, cases are expected to double to 13 million by 2050 driven by aging baby boomers. Early onset disease has jumped 200% over the past 5-years. Treatment costs are estimated to top $360 billion this year and that does not include the unpaid care provided by the 11 million family members who provide care. Alzheimer's research and treatment needs the same support as cancer research now more than ever.
I am happy to ride with J.D. Young, a cycling buddy from Upstate NY. In 2025, I am riding to honor J.D.'s father, David Young, who is afflicted with Alzheimer's.
I respectfully ask for your support. To underscore my commitment to the cause I will personally match all donations 100% dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000. I set a very aggressive goal to raise $50,000 for this vital cause. With your encouragement and support I know we can do it.
This year I have even more drive to get back on the bike.
I am not going to "survive" cancer. Cancer is not going to survive me.
Por favor únase a mí.
Gracias,
Steve
