It took my Dad.

Tom Jacobsen was the absolute best Dad anyone could hope for. I know a lot of people say that, but he really was the kindest, most compassionate, loving human being, and I had the privilege of calling him my father. He touched so many lives during his time on this earth, and the world is a better place because of him.

He began losing his memory a long time ago, and it steadily got worse from year to year. I visited he and my Mom just a couple of weeks before he passed, and on that trip, he asked me who I was. He asked me with a smile on his face, and a warm look in his eyes, as he always had. It really struck me just how awful this disease is that day, and I want nothing more to prevent other daughters from hearing that question.
