Por qué viajo: I am determined to go the distance for all those affected by Alzheimer’s Disease, especially African American's as African American are 2x more likely to be diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease than our white counterparts. People of Latino decent are 1.5x more likely to be diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Please understand that those statistics are under reported.
I ride for my Mom and Great Aunt Mildred who are and were directly impacted, my Aunt and Uncle and I ride for my family and friends who are also caregivers. Research is critical for finding a cure or at least a way to significantly reduce the decline as Alzheimer's right now is terminal. As a caregiver, to two loved one's living with mixed dementia as well as Alzheimer's Disease, it is one of the hardest jobs to do, let along trying to maintain a full-time demanding job and family responsibilities.. It is more difficult when there aren't family close-by who can assist with the care. Research is critical not only for the loved one or friend who is diagnosed but for the caregiver so that their good mental, physical and spirit aren't stripped of the due to being a caregiver if/when effective new drugs, vaccines or other solutions become available.
Thus, please donate any amount to me directly or anyone on the team. I honor my mother, Theresa and my great aunt Mildred who was just shy of 105 years old when she passed away in 2023. Help me to honor my aunt's memory and the continued thriving of my Mom.
