Our story is my love story and very hard to tell. My beloved husband, Dennis was diagnosed in 2011 at the age of 54 with Dementia. 2 years later we found a clinical trial through the Alzheimer's Association which require us to go through inconveniences such as distance and blue dye from the trial. This went on for 3 years. Dennis said if it didn't cure him, he had hopes his participation would lead a cure in the future. We fought this disease and other medical issues until this year, June 14th 6 days after his 67th birthday when the Lord took him home. I will continue to fight for a cure for this disease as every person will somehow be affected by this. We look forward to the 1st person to stand on stage with the white flower meaning they have been cured. In the meantime, I will walk for Dennis and the many others fighting this horrible disease and their caregivers. This is the toughest job ever, but rewarding.
