We lost our Gram long before she passed away in 2015. Nearly a decade before that she started losing things, losing words, losing skills, and losing herself. Watching her decline was suffering I would not wish on anyone. Luckily, Gram had a devoted partner by her side and eventually received full time care at the Maine Veterans Home. While at the Veteran's Home, Papa visited her every single day. Always having lunch together. It was true "in sickness and in health." We lost that devoted husband, father, and grandfather in 2021.
I walk for Papa and Gram and the hope of a world without Alzheimer's.
