As most of you have probably heard by now, my father, Clay Pfeiffer, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease almost 7 years ago. In November of 2017, we had to move him to an assisted living facility as the disease continued to advance quickly. Less than 2 years after his diagnosis, he was gone.
This loss has been very difficult for me and my family to go through, but the Lord has been with us and has been faithful every step of the way. We have also been encouraged by so many of you with your prayers and genuine concern/compassion for our family. We rest in the hope that we will see my dad again someday in Heaven, where this awful disease will no longer have any affect on him.
participo en el Walk to End Alzheimer's because it is a great way for my family and I to remember my father, an incredible man who has been such an amazing, loving, and caring father and great role model to my brother Brett and I as well as a loving, devoted husband to my mother Marilyn for over 44 years. It is a great way to remember all of the great times we had together and lessons we learned from him as well as helping make everyone aware of this awful disease and raise money to help find a cure for it.
Our family is no stranger to Alzheimer, as my grandmother (my dad's mother), Beatrice Pfeiffer, was also diagnosed with the disease later in her life.
We're helping lead the way to Alzheimer's primer superviviente participando en el Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, which takes place in Grand Rapids, MI on Saturday, October 26.
Actualmente, más de 5 millones de estadounidenses han Alzheimer's y se espera que ese número aumente hasta los 16 millones para el 2050. Nuestro futuro está en riesgo a menos que podamos encontrar una manera de cambiar el curso de esta enfermedad.
Juntos podemos terminar Alzheimer's disease. Please consider making a donation to advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
