Apoye a nuestro equipo (llamado así por mi padre, Fred B. Stevens Sr.) durante el Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®.  Dad was a WWI and Korean War veteran who raised 5 children with my mom.  She stood by him and was his main caregiver until he finally was admitted to a nursing home due to health issues she coudn't handle on her own.  My siblings and I, our spouses and children visited often, but we missed his spark, his ever-smiling and laughing personality that made him the wonderful grandfather he was.  I remember crying  each time I left him to drive the 6 hours home after my visits, knowing that he'd be lost all the more the next time I was able to see him.  He had lucid moments, and we treasured those, but I realized that there are way too many families who suffer from this stupid disease.  Let's find a cure already!   Let's do what we can to fight against it!   Won't you join me?  You can join my team, you can sponsor our local walk here in Jefferson County, MO on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 13, 2024, or just please make a donation to your local Alzheimer's association.  Thank you!
