Leola’s Legacy team honors first and foremost my Great Grandmother, Leola Balke Ellis. I had the opportunity to spend time with her a lot as a child as she took care of my sister, Lauren Desormeaux, while mom worked. Easily, our favorite person! Grandma is on the right, my Great Aunt Ruthie (middle), and Great Aunt Anita (left).
Our experiences with her, and so many more family and friends over the years led me to establish my first team in College Station while studying neurobiology at A&M
