Este año, estoy caminando en el Caminata para acabar con el Alzheimer with a deeply personal mission — one that’s shaped not just my career, but my heart.
My aunt was diagnosed with dementia several years ago, and that moment changed everything for me. Watching someone I loved slowly lose pieces of herself — her memories, her stories, her independence — was heartbreaking. But it also opened my eyes to a calling I hadn’t realized was waiting for me.
Because of her, I entered the world of senior living and memory care, determined to make a difference in the lives of those navigating Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. That was eight years ago. Since then, I’ve had the honor of working in memory care communities, walking beside countless residents and families on this journey.
I'm proud to say I’m a Certified Dementia Practitioner, but more than any title, I’m someone who shows up each day driven by love, compassion, and a fierce desire to advocate for those who can no longer advocate for themselves.
El Caminata para acabar con el Alzheimer isn’t just an event — it’s a movement of hope. It’s for the families who are grieving. It’s for the caregivers who are exhausted but never stop showing up. It’s for the future — one where we’ll hopefully have a cure.
I walk for my aunt.
I walk for the residents I've cared for.
I walk for every family holding on to memories.
Will you support my walk? Whether you donate, share, or walk beside me, your support means the world.
Together, we can fight for a world without Alzheimer’s.
